What the 5500 mg figure means

The extract is concentrated at ten to one. 550 mg of it is prepared from 5500 mg of dried mushroom, and 5500 is the number the front of the bottle shows. Only 550 mg of material sits inside the capsule. Both figures are on the licence and both are true, and the one that describes what you swallow is the 550 mg.

The panel names the fruiting body as the part used. That is the mushroom above ground rather than the mycelium it grows from, and the two are different starting material with different polysaccharide profiles. The 40% standardisation on this licence is measured against the extract that goes into the capsule.
